June 2023

Hi there! Welcome to my blog

I’m Hayley and I like to make cool warm things!

I make crochet blanket patterns on hookedwithhayley.com, have a crochet course and sell blankets locally. I’m a mum of 5 (4 boys and 1 girl) and have been crocheting and knitting for years.

I’m going to break my blog up into 3 sections; Works in Progress (WIPs), Finished Items and New Things.

WIPs

I finally got round to spending some time to work on the jumper. I’ve managed to get the body finished and need to start working on the sleeves (which I’m not entirely sure how to do so I’ll probably just wing it as usual)

If you’ve been following my social media, you’ll have seen my latest project. It’s coming on really well and working up really quickly Honesty can’t wait to get it finished, mostly because it’s 1 of 3 patterns I’ve made around the same theme and I’m dying to share them with you

My last WIP is more of an abandoned project (maybe I should add that as an extra category for future blogs?) I started making a YouTube video. I have all the footage recorded and edited the video, but still need to record the voiceover. I was really excited about this one but with all the courses and trainings I’m on at the moment, it’s had to go on the back burner for a while until I get some more time to work on it.

I have managed to get some reels recorded though. One is already on my socials, the other 2 are waiting to be uploaded so if you’re not already following me, head over to Facebook and Instagram and give me a like and follow

Finished Items

My first finished item is the Elvis blanket. I’m so excited to have this finished, especially because it’s taken me so long. It was definitely worth the wait though, in my opinion, because it turned out great! I especially like the blue background that just makes his face ‘pop’. The pattern is available in the shop if you’d like to make your own blanket

My second finished item is the Tool Holder. I’ve been using one for a couple of years now but finally got round to actually writing the patter. I’ve tried loads of different solutions to store my hooks and tools but they just never seemed to work how I wanted them to.

I have a pretty good set up with tool storage. My ‘working hooks’ (the ones I use most often or am using on a WIP) go in the tool holder along with my scissors, sewing in needle, pen or pencil and whatever else I need) the rest of my hooks (and now retired) knitting needles are stored in tubs, so if I need a random sized hook I know exactly where to find it. Get the pattern to make your own here

New Things

This one will be quite hard for me this month. I’ve a few new things but not really crochet related. Weird I know!

My first new thing is Inner Circle. Back in April I joined Paul Mort’s 90 Day Transformation programme and honestly I can’t say enough good things about it. In fact, it’s so good I’m not even finished it yet and I’ve already signed up to work with Paul for another 12 months. The changes to my mindset and confidence have just been mind blowing. My relationships are much better, I’m happier and I’ve even learned a tonne about business.

The biggest take away for me from the whole experience has been the importance of taking the time to work on yourself. You’re worth it!

My second new thing is signing up to a Marketing Course. Just a couple of months ago I wouldn’t have had the confidence of self-belief to even consider signing up for it, let alone be unbelievably excited for all the new opportunities it’ll make possible. I don’t get started until August but just can’t wait

Anyhoo that’s me for now. I have a few new projects I’m hoping to get working on for the next blog and can’t wait to share them with you

Happy hooking and see ya next month
